WRITING
competitively and
as a hobby
Writing is one of my favorite hobbies. Ever since I learned to write, I have always enjoyed writing. I first started to craft poems in Korean when I was around 5 years old. I continue to hone my ability as a writer by keeping a daily diary.

As much as it is an outlet for creative expression, writing is also a platform for critical thinking and logic. To motivate and challenge myself further, I submitted my essays to competitions. I was excited to receive recognitions for my writings.
I reached the semi-finals in a speech contest, and I earned two gold medals and one silver medal in the Scholastic Arts and Writing Competition.

Writing allows me to express myself, connect with others, and inspire readers with stories that resonate.

One day, my aspiration is to write a book. I hope to share my story of assimilating into a new culture, especially one where I moved to the United States after growing up in Korea.
Through this story, I hope to shed light on the unique struggles of moving to another country as a teenager to guide others who may go through similar experiences.
